Now get the Custom Shape Tool and go into your shapes and find the 5 Point Star.

Settings and Shape:

Drawn star:

Add a layer mask by clicking the following button:

Then add in some intense grunge brushing in the layer mask.

Lastly for the star add some dark brown brushing on a new layer, then change the layer mode to Soft Light and lower the opacity to about 50%.

That will have made it look a bit more realistic.
5.
Repeat the exact same steps for the border for the star.

To finish this off, flatten the image then apply Filter > Sharpen > Sharpen, afterwards the Sharpen may need fading slightly.
Also, an optional thing is to also apply Filter > Render > Lighting Effects.

Not bad looking if I don’t say so myself ![]()

Suggestion, use a more drastic lighting effect (Make it look like a torch has found this image on a wall in a pitch black room) and it looks photorealsitc
