We’re going to add in one more texture image to our texture. Download the texture I used from here.
Open it in Photoshop and put it over all the layers in your texture document. Change the layer mode to Hard Light and leave the opacity in tact.

Now your texture should be looking like mine:

A little too bright with color maybe…
Go into Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Hue/Saturation… and use settings similar to mine:

Your texture should be looking like this:

Much nicer for a texture! Can’t have those really bright ones in Half-Life 2

Lastly, when making textures, flatten the image then apply Filter > Sharpen > Sharpen or Unsharp Mask. Then if needed resize the image down to 512×512 pixels.
