My daughter and I both are trying to learn more within Photoshop. She uses extensively with photos. I use with graphics for logos for later printing.
She has created graphics/logos in photoshop, then sends to me.
What I need is to be able to work on the piece she sends me, but we do not know how to "unlock" all the layers or pieces.
I ultimately want to open it in Illustrator and maneuver the pieces, whether to add text to it, move a section, whatever.I can't even open with photoshop and make changes.

We just can't find a way to convert a photoshop created file to be able to use it from Illustrator. Is this even possible?
