Create Professional Web 2.0 Style Icons in 4 Steps

Ok now click back on your reflection layer and in your palette options go to “merge down”:

Another way to do this is to just start a new document entirely, drag whatever image you want to flatten, then after you flatten it just put it back in your current document. To each his/her own I say.

Now we are going to rotate the the reflection layer around 360 degrees. Click on the the reflection on the canvas, on a windows keyboard use the keystroke ctrl+t, which allows you to rotate the object:

After you rotate it around the shadow should not be visible anymore:

Now get your eraser tool back out with a soft brush size of about 100px and erase it in a similar fashion we did the shiny effect layer.

I think that looks pretty neat, what about you?

You can be done at this point, but I am going to add some more things to my icon to make it have practical use on a website or some other project I might be doing.
