3.

Create another new layer and again select the last orb you made. Contract the selection by 3 pixels again (Select > Modify > Contract) then fill the selection with #272727.
Filled Selection With Grey
Apply the following layer styles to this layer:

  1. Inner glow
  2. Gradient Overlay

And now you should have a nice orb that looks like this:

4.

Again create another new layer. Now once again select the last orb you made and contract the selection. Using the Gradient Tool, make a White to Transparent gradient from the top left to the middle area.
White Transparent Gradient
Now using either the Pen Tool or the Polygonal Lasso tool make a selection containing the bottom part of the white gradient.

Press delete and remove that part of your gradient.

Lastly, with a large, soft brush erase away a few of the corners, then lower the opacity to about 60-80%.
Erased and Lowered
Lastly I added one more shiny highlight.
Shine Effect
You can make one of these by making an ellipse selection, making the gradient inside then maybe transforming (ctrl+t) the gradient until it looks like how you want it.

5.

Lastly for a nice touch, duplicate all of the layers you made and merge them together, after merging them resize the single layer to about 50% (ctrl+t to transform) position it accordingly then simply lower the layer opacity.
Smaller Orbs
And again…
Smaller Orbs Again
